Belarusian authors will present their film projects at the creation stage to the open jury and professional audience. A list of projects will be announced later.


Workshop “How to get international grant for cinema. Practice without theory”

Speaker: Maria Ivanova - producer, director, journalist, founder of the Grant Buro project and the Buta Films film company.

At the workshop, Maria will share her working experience with international foundations, film companies and private investors. She will talk about Grant Buro project and criterias for grant projects to be selected. Why are European and American filmmakers able to receive grants, but filmmakers of the post-Soviet space - not. What needs to be done to increase your chances of receiving foreign grants? Maria will touch upon the problem of financing independent and debut films.


Workshop by B2B Doc “Distribution of Documentary Films: Cinemas, TV Channels, Film Festivals”

The workshop is organized for a wide range of documentary filmmakers. The workshop will introduce how documentary distribution works in Europe and post-Soviet countries. How to organize movie rental on TV channels, in cinemas and at film festivals. Who should do this and at what stage should begin. How can a film producer find distributors, sales agents, film festivals programmers and channels purchasers. How and under what conditions relationships are built with them, who earns money and on what,  as well as many other aspects of promoting a documentary film to its viewer.

In cooperation with the Baltic to Black Sea Documentary Network

Workshop on script development of documentary films 

Baltic to Black Sea Documentary Network - B2B DOC is a network of the documentary filmmakers living and working between the Baltic sea in the North to the Black sea in the South.

This year, B2B DOC together with the IFF "Listapad" will organize a seminar on script development of documentary films. During 3 days the B2B Doc experts will work with directors and producers of twelve pre-selected film projects from Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Russia. Projects will be adapted to the requirements of the international film market, where they can find co-producers, as well as opportunities for financing and distribution of films in the future.

Workshop for fiction and documentary film projects in the editing stage

The ADAMI Media Prize for Cultural Diversity in Eastern Europe is launching a workshop for fiction and documentary film projects in the editing stage, addressing cultural diversity, tolerance, integration, or peaceful coexistence topics. The joint Ukrainian-Belarusian workshop is being organized in partnership with the Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad” and the national film studio “Belarusfilm“.

The purpose of the workshop is to facilitate exchange and feedback between filmmakers from different countries in a workshop led by well-known media experts. It will explore various storytelling approaches and increase the appeal of films to a wider, international audience. Six winning teams selected to participate in the three-day editing workshop. Participants will work in several editing rooms, where they will receive tutoring from experienced filmmakers/editors and collaborate on each other’s edits.

VR Day Minsk

This year, VR Day Minsk will receive an 8 hour program that will take place at the AVALON VR (Galleria shopping center, 5th floor).

Screenings of immersive projects from Poland, Lithuania, France, Belarus, Argentina, Czech Republic and the USA will be organized in the Demonstration Hall. 

Speaker sessions, workshops and private demonstrations from specialists in the production and distribution of virtual reality content will be held in the Laboratory.

VR Day Minsk is organized with the support of the Embassy of France in the Republic of Belarus and the Institut de France in Paris. It allowed to fill the program with interesting French projects. Among other guests are Polish director Jacek Naglowski, author of the VR film “Whispers”, member of the Polish Film Academy and  laureate of more than 40 film awards. Vitalijus Zukas, creative producer of the Belarusian-Lithuanian VR film “Trail of Angels”, who has over 20 years of experience working on media projects and in the field of creative industries.

The screening program includes festival hits such as Gloomy Eyes (competition program of the Sundance Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, SXSW, Annecy International Animated Film Festival), Battlescar (competition program of Tribeca Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival),  Isle of The Dead (winner of VR section at the Venice Film Festival in 2018), as well as presentation of the Belarusian project “Unparallel Reality” and the animation project “Under the pillow. The story of kitten Mormitten", which is jointly developed by the studios in Russia, Belarus and Estonia.
