Perspectives on the participation of Belarusian filmmakers in international film festivals will be discussed during MIFF Listapad
November 9, 2013 at 14.00 in Belarusian State Academy of Arts (Chicherina str, 1) within the framework of the 20th Minsk International Film Festival Listapad will be held a workshop of director of the festival of Central and Eastern Europe film GoEast Gaby Babić (Germany). The meeting is organized by Goethe-Institut Minsk.
The possibility of international cooperation between Belarusian filmmakers and the GoEast film festival, as well as modern tendencies in Central and Eastern European film industry, will be discussed during the workshop. The director of the festival Gaby Babić will talk about what one needs to participate in the festival, what are the criteria for the selection of works and what makes GoEast different from other film festivals.
A unique project GoEast Project Market, that helps young directors implement their projects in co-production with German producers, will take place within the framework of the meeting.
International Film Festival GoEast in Wiesbaden is one of the most important forums dedicated to Eastern European cinema. It was founded in 2001 and rapidly gained authority. Annually it hosts about 200 guests, among whom were such famous directors as Krzysztof Zanussi, Jiří Menzel, Tarr Béla, Jerzy Oskar Stuhr, Kira Muratova, Sergei Loznitsa and many others.
Gaby Babić studied cinema and theatre in Paris and Frankfurt. In 2005-2007 she worked in the cultural department in Goethe Institut Sarajevo. She’s been the director of the festival of Central and Eastern European film GoEast since 2010.
