XXI Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad” will be held from November 7 to 14, 2014 in Minsk.
The Belarus’ largest and most prestigious public film festival “Listapad” annually takes place at the beginning of November in Minsk. The main purpose of the festival is to offer a wide selection of highly acclaimed feature films, documentaries from all over the world as well as new productions from Belarus.
The Festival is held by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and Minsk City Executive Committee.
The Minsk International Film Festival competition has three sections – feature (The Main Competition and the first and second feature films competition “Youth on March”), documentary (Documentary Competition and National Film Schools Competition), children and youth film festival “Listapadzik”. Also special programs in focus, retrospectives, master-classes, seminars and other related events are presented annually. During a week cinema goers have a possibility to watch more than 140 movies in 6 venues. Filmmakers, actors and supporters have the opportunity to network at various events.
The first Festival Forum “Listapad” was held in Minsk in 1994 and was known as the Movie festival of the CIS countries and the Baltic States “Listapad” till 2002. Since that time “Listapad” has become one of the most important and representative international film forums of post-Soviet area.
In 2013 MIFF “Listapad” received the permanent accreditation from the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
