Love and art-mainstream – February in “Listapad. Collection”

“Listapad. Collection” in the first half of February will be held under the sign of love and life! At first an optimistic kaleidoscope of stories “Chacun Sa Vie” by legendary French director Claude Lelouch will surprise Minsk cinema fans. Then the project will show a collection of the best romantic short films straight from Italy. In the second half of the month, there will be two art-house movies which became sensations at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017  a thriller by Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” and a German-French drama by Fatih Akin “In the Fade”.

In early February, on the eve of St. Valentine's Day “Chacun Sa Vie” will be screened in Minsk. It’s a new film by Oscar winner Claude Lelouch who directed a famous movie “A Man and a Woman”. In a small country town of Beaune which is full of jazz mood, annual music festival takes place. 12 men and 12 women continue living their lives not noticing anything around. They fall in love, flirt, make dates, cheat on each other, get divorced and propose to their beloved. You can immerse yourself in the atmosphere and the most romantic day of the year from 8 to 18 February at the "Centralny” cinema and from 14 to 28 February at the Falcon Club Cinema Boutique.

Also a collection of the best Italian shorts about love will be screened from 14 to 28 February at the Falcon Club Cinema Boutique. The anthology “ITALIAN BEST SHORTS 2: Love in the eternal city”, gathered seven brightest Italian short melodramas and comedies. It’s a declaration of love for the beauty of human relations with the world, with oneself, with each other. This movie collection will be shown from 1 to 7 March at the “Pioneer” cinema.

In mid-February the last year's movie sensation – art-thriller by Yorgos Lanthimos “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” will be shown. A talented heart surgeon Steven (Colin Farrell) lives happily with his wife Anna (Nicole Kidman) and two adorable children. This family’s idyll is threatened by a ghost from the past, which Steven can no longer hide. The world premiere of the film took place at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017 and where the film received the award for the best script and was nominated for the “Palme d'Or”. You can see Lanthimos' film known for its strongest level of tension from 15 to 21 February at the "Raketa" cinema and on February 28 at the Falcon Club Cinema Boutique.

Last film of “Listapad. Collection” this month is “In the Fade” by Fatih Akin – “Best Foreign Language Film” according to the “Golden Globe”. The ideal life of Katja in one moment turned into ruins – as a result of a terrorist act her husband and son were killed. In a frenzied search for the perpetrators of a senseless killing, Katja does not find justice. And after a long sorrow, in absolute powerlessness, she takes extreme measures. Diane Kruger, who starred in the film, won the award for Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival.
