A blonde teenage girl went missing. There is every reason to believe that she has been kidnapped and now works in a brothel for juvenile girls. The father of the girl, who is a major policymaker, hires former FBI agent to find and rescue his only daughter. This mission didn’t pose any problems for a combat veteran, who follows a code of honor, and he saved the child. Having rescued the girl from slavery, he finds out that powerful corrupt people are responsible for the kidnapping and he can’t cope on his own with these.

First audience saw an incomplete version of the film at Cannes Film Festival last spring. Film critics unanimously called “You Were Never Really Here” one of the most unexpected premieres of the festival and the most anticipated film of the coming year. Moreover, they spoke of it as “a transcendent film” (Village Voice), “powerful assault” (New York Magazine) and “uncompromising, but brilliant film” (The Sun (UK).

Joaquin Phoenix, American actress and a model of Russian origin Ekaterina Samsonova played the leading roles in a new film of the director of “Ratcather” and “We Need to Talk About Kevin”. “Both Joaquin and me think that Katya (the leading woman) is very natural. We saw a lot young actresses at the audition and she stood out as she didn’t feel that she was acting. She has a mystica, weird characteristic, which is hard to describe”, Lynne Ramsay commented on the work with Ekaterina Samsonov. Jonathan Greenwood, the guitarist of Radiohead and one of the best composer of modernity, created music for this film.
