53RD KARLOVY VARY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL RESULTS ANNOUNCED

July 7, the 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which is one of the largest and most prestigious film festivals in Central and Eastern Europe, summed up the results. The Crystal Globe for Best Feature Film went to the new film about the Holocaust, the popular denial of the truth and the position of Romania in World War entitled "I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians" directed by Radu Jude. The Grand Prix for Best Documentary Film went to "Witnesses of Putin" directed by Vitaly Mansky.

Within the festival over 230 feature films and documentaries were presented. One of the participants of East of the West – Competition was the debut feature Crystal Swan of the Belarusian director Darya Zhuk. A member of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival Selection Committee and of the Listapad-2016 Main Competition Jury, Lenka Tyrpáková called Crystal Swan "an energetic debut pulsating to the beat of the chaos of the 90s".

The 54th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will be held next year, from June 28 to July 6.
