The film festival "Okno Filmfest" is the fourth film forum for the last month, which will show the motion picture. The "Crystal Swan" was warmly accepted by foreign critics after its world premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on 30 June. Also the film was awarded the "Golden Duke" Grand Prix of the 9th Odessa International Film Festival.

Now the creators of the film have received 20 more invitations to the film forums in Germany, Greece, Sweden, Norway, Great Britain, Slovenia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Spain, Austria, Latvia, Ireland and the USA. Experts think the film is a breakthrough for the Belarusian cinema: it got positive reviews from the influential publications such as Hollywood Reporter, Screen International, Kommersant and many others. On top of that, "Crystal Swan" has been chosen by the Belarusian Oscar Committee to be nominated for the American Academy Award.

Set in Belarus in the 1990s, "Crystal Swan" follows a young girl who works as a DJ. Her dream is to move to America. And yet, due to an unfortunate mistake in the visa application, she has to spend a week in a small mill town, so as not to lose her chance to make her "American dream" come true. The film offers a wide panorama of life in the 1990s: a world of underground youth raves, spontaneous unregulated markets, young people longing to leave the country for good – and the life of the province, seemingly frozen in time.

The Russian cinema festival "Okno Filmfest" was founded in 1993 by the cinema classics Marlen Khutsiev, Savva Kulish and Mikael Tariverdiev. Previous years, the laureates of the festival were the films "Passion" by Kira Muratova, "Taurus" by Alexander Sokurov, "The Cuckoo" by Alexander Rogozhkin, Alexei Balabanov's “It Doesn't Hurt Me”, Roman Karimov's comedy "Inadequate People" and many other famous works.

The 26th Film Festival in Vyborg is held on 10 – 16 August. The date of the Belarusian premiere of "Crystal Swan" is 29 August (Minsk), after that the broadcast will start all over the country.
