Submission for Minsk Film Festival “Listapad” is now open

The 27th “Listapad” starts accepting applications for competition programmes. This year the largest Belarusian film event will be held from 6 to 13 November. You can submit your film for participation in one of six programmes of the Minsk International Film Festival:

·          Main Feature Films Competition

The Main Feature Film Competition is focused on films from the countries of the former communist bloc. You can fill in the application form here.

·          Feature Films Competition “Youth on the March”

The “Youth on the March” competition selects debuts from around the world - the 1st - 2nd full-length film in the director’s filmography. You can fill in the application form here.

·          Main Documentary Films Competition

The main documentary film competition accepts full-length and medium-length films created in the countries of the former communist bloc. Here is a link to apply for the competition.

·          National Film Schools Competition (Documentary Films)

The National Film Schools Competition accepts student films, including graduation works, from all over the world. It can be a short-length, medium-length or full-length film. Here is a link to the application form.

·          Children and Youth Films Competition “Listapadzik”

The Children and Youth Films Competition “Listapadzik” is not limited geographically. You can submit your full-length film here.

·          National Competition

The National Competition accepts full-length, medium-length and short-length fiction, documentary and animated films created by Belarusian authors in Belarus and abroad, as well as films shot by foreign filmmakers and focused on life in Belarus, its past and present. You can fill in the application form here.

The deadline for submitting a film is August 31, 2020.

Every autumn, the Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad” becomes the main film event in Belarus. During the week, more than 150 films from over 50 countries are shown at 6 venues of Belarusian capital. The screenings are followed by Q&A sessions between the audience and film authors. The “Bel:Cinema” Industrial Platform complements the festival programme with master classes, retrospective screenings and lectures for filmmakers.

Since 2013, MIFF “Listapad” has been accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). The festival is visited annually by up to 20,000 filmgoers and over 100 guests from around the world.

In the past MIFF “Listapad” awarded films from Ukraine, Romania, Estonia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland and Germany. In recent years, The Grand Prix of the festival was given to Valentyn Vasyanovych (Atlantis), Radu Jude (I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians), Rainer Sarnet (November). The main awards of the documentary film competition were given to Yang Sun and S. Leo Chiang (Our Time Machine), Alisa Kovalenko (Home Games), Arunas Matelis (Amazing Losers: Another World). The films by Andreas Horvath (Lillian), João Salaviza & Renée Nader Messora (The Dead and The Others), Ilian Metev (Three Quarters) won in the competition “Youth on the March”.

The founders of the Festival are Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and Minsk City Executive Committee. The organizer of the Festival is the “Visual and Performing Arts Centre “ART Corporation”.
