After the closing of the mercury mine, New Idria turned into a ghost town. The film shows three characters who, in their youth, with an incredible amount of idealism and energy tried to create an alternative version of the American Dream.

Born in 1983 in USSR. Graduated with a degree in history and Latin American studies from the University of Arizona in 2006, researched the life of large metropolises and isolated communities in the Americas. His last two short films THE MEMORY OF TURTLES and VALENTINA participated in numerous festivals worldwide.

Curator, media artist. Born in Vitebsk, Belarus. In 2015 graduated from Saint-Petersburg University of Culture and Arts, then from the department of cinematography of the Moscow School of New Cinema. Works in documentary filmmaking, fashion, music, and photography. Her films were participants and prize-winners of international film festivals – IDFA, HotDocs, Visions du Réel, Moscow IFF, ArtDocFest, Beat, Message to Man and others.
