Shot entirely in the interior of one of the last remaining public laundry spaces in Lisbon, the film documents the surviving tradition of hand washing through a portrait of Maria da Luz – a strong willed and meticulous woman who is among the few left to carry forward this long-standing practice.

Christina Agatha Zachariades

A Greek-American documentary filmmaker and researcher. Her curious spirit initially led her to a career in advertising where she spent over 10 years in New York City as a consumer researcher and strategist. Christina has been awarded three Effie Industry Awards for her work. She holds a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Arts from the University of Texas in Austin and is currently pursuing her second Master’s degree in Documentary Film Directing through the Mobile Film School “DocNomads”.
