“Casa del Migrante” in Huehuetoca, a suburb at the gates of Mexico City, is a safe haven for migrants. At least for two days. Then they must go on with their journey towards north in freight train carriages, which everyone here just calls “La Bestia,” the beast.

Manuel Inacker

German-Croatian director based in Berlin. Born in 1989 in Siegen, Germany. Graduated from the University of Erfurt and Bosphorus University in Istanbul (Politics, Sociology and Philosophy), lived in various countries including China, Australia and Turkey. Studies feature and documentary film directing at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. His films have been screened at numerous festivals such as Berlinale, IDFA and San Diego Film Festival.
