A man elected to become the head of a newly independent country, gets ousted by a coup d´état shortly after. He flees into the mountains where loyal troops are rumored to be waiting for him. He plans to meet them and come back from his exile to regain his power. Full of hope, he follows his guardians, in order to  regroup with his true supporters and reach the glory times again. However, the journey turns out to be a restless one, between trust and distrust, hope and  despair. His  dreams blend with reality as his feelings of insecurity grow. Finally, the president reaches the village of Khibula, where he has to meet his fate.

George Ovashvili

Born in Tbilisi on November 14, 1963. Graduated from the fim department of the Georgian State Institute of Cinema and Theater in 1996. In 2006 he studied at the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios in Hollywood. His debut fim THE OTHER BANK (2009) was shown at numerous IFFs and won over fity international awards. His second fulllength fim CORN ISLAND (2014) also received numerous awards, including Crystal Globe at the Karlovy Vary IFF and Best Cinematography award at Minsk IFF “Listapad”.
