One day, a woman receives the parcel she sent to her incarcerated husband some time earlier. Confused and deeply concerned, she decides to go to the  prison in a remote area of Russia, to seek information. So begins the story of a journey rife with humiliations and violence, the story of an absurd battle against an impenetrable fortress.

Sergei Loznitsa

Born in 1964, grew up in Kiev. In 1997 graduated from the Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK).
Became famous for documentary BLOCKADE (2005), created from the archive footage of the besieged Leningrad. Feature debut MY HAPPINESS (2010) participated in the main competition of the Cannes IFF. In 2012 his second feature fim, IN THE FOG, was also presented at the Cannes Festival and received the FIPRESCI prize. Sergei Loznitsa is a two-time winner of the «Golden Listapad» award.
