A touching and ironic story praising human solidarity from the «last romantic» of the modern cinema, Aki Kaurismäki. Somewhere on the outskirts of the concrete jungle of Helsinki, fate brings together Caled, an honest guy, who lost his homeland and loved ones, and Wickström, former traveling salesman, who invested all his capital into buying a loss-making snack bar. Melancholic Wikström and a team of his eccentric employees are  taking care of the new acquaintance. While Caled is busy searching for the missing sister, his new friends are looking for ways to transform their restaurant and make it a popular place.
