In a godforsaken post-Soviet village, Larysa has fallen in love with Scar, an attractive young criminal. After he heads to the city, she will be forced to follow the traditional life she has always refused. However, Vitka, her 5-year-old rebellious cousin, holds a secret that can change everyone’s destiny.
Director, scriptwriter. Born in Ivanovo (Russia) her family soon moved to Kiev. Graduated from Kiev’s Taras Shevchenko National University, then from Kiev’s Karpenko-Kary University of Theatre, Film and TV. Wrote and directed a number of short films that were screened in festivals like Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, Cairo IFF, Golden Apricot. In 2016, her first feature film screenplay WHEN THE TREES FALL was selected for ScripTeast and won Kieslowski Award in a ceremony held during the 2016 Cannes IFF.
